More and more Sistas have decided to debunk the myth that strength training is not feminine enough to look beautiful and have incorporated strength training as an exercise to strengthen and condition their musculoskeletal system therefore improving overall muscle development and endurance. Strength training is used as general term with other more familiar terms such as body building, weight lifting resistance training all which increase your basal metabolic rate, the rate you burn calories at rest. You will have more muscle definition, strength, increases in tendon, bone and ligament strength. It has also been theorized that strength training can also improve psychological health including a more positive attitude, higher self-esteem and increased self-confidence. These ladies are proof of this theory.
